It would be good to be able to either have vessels with different types of propulsion: Start-stop engines, Gearbox, CPP) or that we can actually change them on different vessels. Since they all react differently it would be a perfect addition to the simulator. Some are extremely right handed or left handed. CPPs often have a positive or negative effect on zero. All small differences that make a manoeuvre significantly different. Word be good to have those with specific start stop engines or even gearbox to have the possibility of using engine setting like (Dead slow ahead, slow ahead, half ahead, full ahead etc.

I think it would be easiest to implement that we are able to make these changes to the vessels prior to starting the simulator instead of you guys having to make 20+ vessels with all those different effects. That way a user would be able to practise bringing the same vessel alongside with a left or right handed vessel.

Only now do I really realise how far ahead of its time Ship Simulator 2008 actually was. Looking back, it really pushed the limits of what was possible with the technology at the time.

I have so many great memories of those days, especially the multiplayer. Working together with other players to manoeuvre a huge ship into a tiny harbour, using tugboats to get it safely alongside those moments were genuinely special.

For me personally, Ship Simulator 2008 even planted the seed for what I would eventually study and what kind of work I would end up doing. So it has had a bigger influence on my life than I probably realised at the time.

That is why I am really looking forward to seeing where Nautis Home goes in the future. I sincerely hope multiplayer will eventually become part of it as well. Imagine being able to do those same kinds of operations together, but with today’s technology and an even more realistic simulation.

It would be amazing to once again experience that feeling of working together with other enthusiasts in this small but passionate niche.

Really looking forward to the future of Nautis Home and hopefully, one day, sailing together with all of you! 🚢

(RM). Also for the ecdis to have a setting for you adjust based on a specific ships draft. So if my draft of the vessel is 5 meters the chart color layers adjust accordingly. Maybe even the option to set a UKC. Also a night mode/dark mode.

Another idea for the ecdis is to add the layer of the current. Since you guys have added current to the simulation but you cannot determine ahead of time what you can expect the effects would be, see below example. Also would be able to adjust it at that moment. Because now i have no idea what does the separate function for current in the menu does in comparison to the on that you can choose from before running the simulation (Default, ingoing, outgoing)
