I was working on a cruise ship for a few months this spring and we were doing cruises from Southampton, one of my favourite departures, Southampton especially the very tight turning circle that I believe is 350m. Challenging for the captain but a really nice manoeuvre.

Currently its annoying that in many ships (for e.g. POMOXIS) the Wing views are outside the ship not where the actual wing controls are inside the bridge. Custom camera views would solve this.

I would like to ask if it would be possible to provide the exact GPS reference position / antenna position for each vessel available in NAUTIS Home.

I am currently using NAUTIS Home together with external electronic chart applications such as OpenCPN and iSailor, and knowing the exact onboard GPS reference position would help considerably with accurate vessel positioning on these external charts.

In particular, it would be useful to know the GPS position relative to the vessel geometry, for example:

• Distance from the bow or stern

• Distance from the vessel centreline

• Port / starboard offset, if any

• Reference position along the vessel's length

• Ideally, the position expressed relative to LOA and beam

This becomes especially noticeable during close-quarter manoeuvring and berthing, where even a relatively small offset between the simulated GPS reference point and the actual reference used by OpenCPN or iSailor can make the vessel appear incorrectly positioned on the chart.

Would it be possible to include this information in the pilot card or vessel technical data for each ship?

Even a simple reference such as:

GPS 1: X metres from stern / X metres from centreline

would be extremely useful.

This would help users who connect NAUTIS Home to external charting applications achieve much more accurate positioning without changing anything inside the simulator itself.
