IA + Python = the winning combo !

Dear Community,

I'm very pleased (and proud ) to share with you the modules I Added to our favourite simulator. [I want to say that no one line of code in NH has been modified !]

As I said in a previous post, Python code + IA are the winning combo !

Here is a list of working modules (not all are shown) the IA has helped me to create. Some of them are still a "work in progress".

1. Portland Ruler with moving center part, like the real one.

2. CRA Ruler I can use just like if I was on a chart table.

3. Depth alarm based on NH depth screen detection. Sounding alarm is heard if limit is reached (or below).

4. Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System with 3 alarm levels and sound alarms on levels 2 and 3.

5. VHF Radio simulating VHF traffic with real sounds files from sdr radio website. The only thing I can't do is transmitting ;-) But very immersive anyway.

6. Weather station gathering weather information from the internet updating every 30 minutes.

7. Another weather station giving forecast prediction.

8. qtVlm naviagtion chart with the NH Gutte Pier in the center with blue track behind. Datas are from NH dedicated zones screen capture.

9. Main Control Panel running and stopping the various modules.

10. Compass, a nice complement to the radar when exercising.

11. Analog pressure barometer getting data from the internet.

12. Dual digital clocks with local time setting

13. Simulated fuel consumption managment with instant consumption and a tank I can fill at a certain level. IA helped me to estimate fuel consumption and tank volume for each vessel in NH. There is no impact on vessels of course ;-)

All those modules have settings not visible on the pictures. All those modules running together create a real bridge atmosphere.

Some modules have still to be improved but I can tell you that my navigation Journey is now somewhat different !

Not visible are a Navtex Receiver getting infos from internet with blinking LED on new message arrival; a tide calculator, a tide clock; some nice graphics about fuel consumption, NH fleet management; and some other ideas I have in mind for the future :-)

How did I do all that ? Again… Pyhton + IA (ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, Copilot,etc...) (and a lot of patience too). I want to notice that I am completely unable to write a single line in Python !

Sail safe,

Guy
