Hi all π
Since the update of Nautis, and the correction of the bow thruster of the Doggerbank, i've been trying it in Dover.
I've been an officer on the Dover Calais route for 9 month, so I may have some input that shall be considerd seriously ;)
Some people asked before the addition of a Constant RPM mode for maneuvre. That is indeed completely justified. In maneuvre scenarios, Ferries have to have their engine running at constant/max RPM to run the bow thruster (appart from exceptions, like the E-flexer class for example). In that case, only the pitch of the propeller changes which makes the vessel more reactive.
I would understand that it would not be possible to add a max RPM mode, though the ship is too slow to respond to user input.... It's almost impossible to maneuvre quickly, which is the all point of the Calais route : beeing fast.
I would expect the reactivity of the ferry to be improved.
Moreover, I find the ship's reaction to be strange sometimes. For example when you differenciate (1 engine ahead, 1 astern) The shipsuddenly picks up too much speed. You then increase the engine in the opposite direction of the movement to slow it down, but it still accelerates unless you REALLY increase you engine speed. This shall be looked into.
Hope to see improvements in the future ;)
