Maneuvre inside DFDS terminal in Rotterdam with the Cheviot Bandit

Hello πŸ™‚

I'm usually more used to maneuvre twin screw ships (in the simulator of course, I'm still only second officer, therefore I rarely get the opportunity to do the maneuvres myself ^^) But after all in school we learned to maneuvre all kind of ships so I tried my luck with this one.

I'm a bit disapointed that the propeller effect astern is not very strong/strong enough. On single screw with fixed pitch powered vessels, when going astern, the propeller effect pulls the stern of the ship to one side quite strongly. Judging by the quarter ramp, which is on starboard side, I suppose the propeller should be left pitched (meaning the bow of the vessel goes to the left I.e. port).

Thus, when applying power ahead while beeing astern, the vessel doesn't loose too much speed allowing for repectable latteral movements.

Sorry for the sped up video, but its not a twin screw vessel so the maneuvre takes ages ^^

Conditions : SE wind, force 4. Current to the east 1.5 knotw (manually ajusted to the north when I entered the terminal as it would be IRL with a speed of 0.5 knotw because why not ^^)
