A look ahead at what’s planned for NAUTIS Home—features, content, and community-driven ideas
NAUTIS Home Roadmap
Coming soon
This section highlights the vessels, environments, features, and courseware planned for the next product update. While our aim is to deliver these as scheduled, timelines may shift due to development challenges or evolving priorities. Rest assured, we will keep you updated every step of the way.
Developing
The listed features are already in progress but need more development time. We regularly review this list to incorporate your feedback and ensure our work stays aligned with your training needs.
Goal 2026
We are currently working simultaneously on several larger features, which will be rolled out in stages. Below, we would like to share some insight into what you can expect next.
Basic Traffic update: The first phase of Basic Traffic was expected in this 0.9.0.0 release. During the final testing phase, we identified issues with the feature. We understand this may be disappointing, but rather than releasing it before it is ready, we have decided to move Basic Traffic to a dedicated follow-up release while we continue refining it so that it is up to standards. You can find the full update message here.
Basic Traffic (Rotterdam environment)
We will introduce traffic variations within the Rotterdam environment, featuring realistic vessel movements in selected busy areas.
Traffic is based on actual AIS data for a specific date and time.
You can position your own vessel anywhere within these active traffic zones.
Designed to create a more dynamic and authentic training experience.
This is a major step toward increasing realism and situational awareness within the simulator.
Towing
As an intermediate step toward the full towing feature, this 0.9.0.0 release introduced pre-prepared towing scenarios that allow you to already experience the core dynamics of towing operations in a controlled setup. We are actively continuing development toward a full towing system. We are working on the following functionality:
Connect towing lines yourself between tug and vessel.
Attach multiple lines depending on the towing configuration.
Directly control and adjust the force applied on each line.
New vessel and Environment
While we continue working on larger upcoming features, we are also steadily expanding the vessel and environment library to provide more options for different training needs and scenarios.
Several exciting new additions are already in development. Stay tuned and keep an eye on our social media channels and community for upcoming previews and announcements!
Situation Editor: In 2026 we will introduce the foundation of this tool, allowing you to place vessels and objects from the NAUTIS Home library into the environment. It will be expanded step by step into a full editor as we continue building it. You can create custom training scenarios tailored to specific training needs not covered in existing content.
New Learning System: We are working on migrating to a more professional learning platform in the coming year. This will significantly improve your learning experience and provide more structured training opportunities. Details will follow as soon as they are available.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
Transparency: Sharing our plans and progress to keep you informed about the direction of NAUTIS Home.
Adaptability: Responding to your feedback and adapting our roadmap to meet your needs and expectations.
Excellence: Learning from each release to ensure that NAUTIS Home continues to set the standard for home-based ship simulation.
Your feedback is invaluable in shaping NAUTIS Home. Please remember that the roadmap is a living document, subject to change as we adapt to new insights and opportunities.
